VICTORVILLE — A Powerball ticket worth $56,449 was sold at a Victorville liquor store, California Lottery officials confirmed.

The winning ticket, purchased at M&G Market & Liquor, located at 12384 Palmdale Road, matched four numbers plus the Powerball in the December 1 drawing, lottery officials told The HD Post in an email.

While the prize falls short of the $745 million jackpot, matching four numbers plus the Powerball remains one of the game’s higher-tier payouts, with odds of 1 in 913,129.

The identity of the winner has not been announced. In California, lottery winners’ names become public record once a prize is claimed, but the lottery does not release personal contact information.

M&G Market & Liquor will receive a retailer bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Jackpot estimated at $775 Million

In a separate win on the same night, a Powerball ticket sold in Northern California fell one number short of winning the $745 million jackpot, lottery officials said.

Instead, that ticket earned a prize of $501,453.

The jackpot hasn’t been won since Sept. 6, when two tickets in Missouri and Texas split $1.787 billion. It is now estimated at $775 million.

The odds of hitting the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.

Powerball tickets cost $2 per play, with drawings held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time (ET).

Players can check winning numbers on the California Lottery website or mobile app.
