San Bernardino County accepting applications for paid summer internship program

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY – San Bernardino County announced that it is accepting applications for its summer internship program until April 4th.

The SPARK Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) offers a paid work experience each summer, with this year’s hourly wage set at $16.50.

Through SPARK, youth will have the opportunity to work in various county departments and gain hands-on experience from the county team.

Eligibility

San Bernardino County residents aged 16 – 24 are eligible to apply for the internship.

Applicants are asked to choose from a list of areas where they would like to work, including:

  • Arts, Culture & Library 
  • Legal & Court Services 
  • Administrative Office 
  • Community Development 
  • Economic Development 
  • Human Services & Child Development 
  • Information Technology 
  • Parks & Recreation 
  • Public Works 
  • Fire & Safety 

The county says the SPARK program will not only help interns explore career pathways but also allow them to connect with peers and mentors in the field.
