VICTORVILLE – Haunted hayrides, a magic act and live music awaits festival goers, this Saturday at Mojave Narrows Regional Park.

The San Bernardino County Regional Parks Department is presenting the Harvest Festival to celebrate the beginning of fall with a touch of Halloween spook.

Harvest festivals give thanks

The origin of harvest festivals can be traced back to ancient agricultural societies’ dependence on the yearly crop harvest for survival.

They serve as a reminder of our reliance on nature and the importance of giving thanks for the food it provides.

Mojave Narrows Harvest Festival

The Mojave Narrows Harvest Festival will include a pumpkin patch, trick-or-treating, costume contests for all ages — including fur babies, as well as family games, a pie-eating contest, event booths, and food.

The Haunted Hayride experience will contain special effects, including strobe lights, intense sound, extreme and graphic visual effects and fog machines. The ride is limited to the first 225 who pre-register and pay for the ride.

Live music performances include the Southern Spirit Band bringing an eclectic mix of rock, country, blues and jazz. The High D Boys will perform with a Banjo, guitar, a wash-tub bass, and a vocal prodigy.
