HESPERIA – Super Beetle, Bello Roman, Mexi-Machos, and CJ Thunder are a few of the wrestlers taking over the ring, this Saturday, for the pro wrestling match at the VFW Post on Hesperia Road. The Empire Wrestling Federation promises a night of fun for the whole family.

According to the website, Empire Wrestling Federation has brought Southern California professional wrestling for over 26 years.

Pro wrestling is a theatrical performance where the players are all athletes and require physical ability to play their roles. The matchups in pro wrestling have a theme, with good guys and villains, and some have a storyline that continues from match to match.

Empire Wrestling Federation’s “Lucha Libre” night is an outdoor event with six matches. The headlining match for the night is Super Beetle vs. Bello Roman. Matches are also premiered on Youtube where viewers can watch and chat with each other like a livestream.

Event Promoter Jesse Hernandez also runs the School of Hard Knocks pro wrestling school in San Bernardino. Three days a week, athletes can learn the skills needed to become a pro wrestler. Notable alumni include Awesome Kong, Candice LeRae and Frankie Kazarian.

The Empire Wrestling Federation also puts on professional wrestling shows for  “a fun and unique way to raise money.” The ring is also available for rental.

“Lucha Libre” starts at 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 12. The event will be held at VFW Post 2924, 10184 Hesperia Road in Hesperia. Admission is $15 for ages 13 and up and $7 for kids 12 and under.
