APPLE VALLEY – Lone Wolf Colony, a RV park celebrating 100 years in September, hosted its second annual Easter Festival, Saturday. Proceeds from the festival will go towards scholarships for students at Apple Valley, Granite Hills and Lucerne Valley high schools pursuing a career in the medical field.

“We’ll be dispersing three $500-$1,000 scholarships to each school in May,” said Lone Wolf Colony Co-Executive Director Shannon Irwin. “The money comes from our Fall festival combined with the money raised today.”

The Easter event was filled with music, food and carnival games. Irwin and Lone Wolf Colony Co-Executive Director Billy Irwin built the 10 games that attendees could play for the price of a few tickets. Tenants living at the park supported the event with candy donations for the featured event of the day – the Easter Egg hunt.

There were 25 craft vendors selling their goods as well as four food trucks for families to enjoy a meal while viewing the festivities.

“I’m thankful to be here,” said DJ Lady Kay who played a mix of classic Hip-Hop and R&B music. The Victorville native and family friend said that she is the usual DJ for Lone Wolf Colony’s events.

The organization previously held a Fall festival with a haunted house and live musical performances among other events.

In addition to offering RV space, Lone Wolf Colony has five medical stay cabins — free to the public for 2 weeks a year with a doctor’s note for injury, surgery, or non-communicable illness recovery. The facility also offers six dump stations, a banquet hall, and five overnight stay cabins.

They will be throwing a 100 year anniversary celebration on September 17th.

“Thank you to the public for those who were able to donate including the tenants,” said Irwin. “We’re striving to help the community, local schools and the public whenever it’s needed.”

Lone Wolf Colony is located at 23200 Bear Valley Rd, Apple Valley. For more information call (760) 247-7878 or visit https://www.facebook.com/Lone-Wolf-Colony-Inc-1472964136257354/
