VICTORVILLE – Follow the yellow brick road and experience the magic, soul and energy of “The Wiz” during its closing weekend.
Presented by Phil 413 Productions, this electrifying production brings the beloved Broadway and film classic to life with powerful vocals, dynamic choreography and unforgettable storytelling for audiences of all ages in the High Desert.
The production is directed by Amber Valentina, with choreography by Precious Henderson and music direction by Kenneth LaRue.
Valentina said “The Wiz” is a celebration of courage, friendship and finding your own voice.
“If people leave the theater humming the music, feeling a little more confident and asking themselves where their own yellow brick road might lead, then we have done our job,” Valentina said.
Fresh take on Dorothy’s journey
Valentina says the production delivers high-energy performances, stunning visuals and a fresh take on Dorothy’s journey to Oz.
“The Wiz” stars Coree Sparks as Dorothy, Kenneth LaRue as the Scarecrow, Tierra Emoni as the Lion and Corey Mitchell as the Tin Man, supported by an ensemble cast of local High Desert performers.
“Featuring iconic songs, dazzling choreography, and a story filled with hope, courage, and self-discovery, ‘The Wiz’ is the perfect theatrical experience for families, friends, and theater lovers alike,” Valentina said.
The show runs March 6–7 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. and March 8 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Cultural Arts Center of the High Desert, located at 15615 8th Street in Victorville.
