Free food deals Californians can enjoy in May and June

CALIFORNIA – Eateries across California are offering free food deals in May and June amid the rising cost of living in the state. 

Special offers include discounts for recent graduates and two-for-one deals. 

The deals cater to a variety of customers, offering affordable options during challenging economic times.

Graduates can celebrate at Black Angus 

Black Angus is offering a free entrée (up to $30) for college grads who dine in wearing their cap and gown, now through June 30.

A Black Angus spokesperson told the HD Post that participants can choose from a wide range of items such as dry-aged steaks, signature 8 oz burgers made with premium certified Angus beef, and more. 

“For family and friends who want to commemorate a new grad with a special gift, the Celebration Package is the perfect way to dress up the table for timeless photos this graduate season. The Celebration Package includes a set of balloons, a customized card and a Black Angus Steakhouse-branded cowbell – priced at $10,” said the spokesperson.

Shake Shack giving away burgers for month of May

Shake Shack is celebrating National Burger Month by offering a different Shake Shack single burger for free with a $10 minimum purchase each week in May.

For the remaining weeks in May, customers can order on the Shack App, online or at a kiosk in-Shack and use code BURGERMONTH to get:

  • 5/19 – 5/25: Avocado Bacon Burger
  • 5/26 – 6/1: ShackBurger

Shake Shack said the offer is not valid for drive-thru orders or orders made through third-party delivery apps.

Red Robin is giving away burgers for a year

Red Robin is also celebrating National Burger Month with free gourmet burgers for a year.

For a chance to win, Red Robin Royalty members can enter the Sweepstakes by ordering a burger and beverage combo or signing up for a new Royalty account, either online, via the app, or by providing their linked phone number in-store by May 31, 2025. 

Twelve winners will be selected by random draw.

Kids eat free at Claim Jumper

Kids eat free on Mondays at Claim Jumper restaurants with the purchase of an adult entree. 

Claim Jumper is a casual dining restaurant chain known for its hearty portions and gold-rush-themed decor.

Kids also get a toy from the treasure chest with the free meal. The offer is for dine-in only.
