San Bernardino County hosting job fair April 24 at Mall of Victor Valley

VICTORVILLE – The San Bernardino County Workforce Development Department is hosting a hiring event, April 24, at the Mall of Victor Valley.

According to the announcement the hiring event will have a wide range of employers.

Job seekers will have the opportunity to connect with local employers, whether they are pursuing a new profession or seeking their first job.

Attendees are encouraged to bring resumes, dress professionally, and prepare to network.

Up to 80% of jobs are filled through networking

Studies have found that anywhere from 50% to 80% of all jobs are filled through networking.

“When hiring, recruiters have the incredibly tough task of picking one person from hundreds of applicants,” according to recruitment agency Apollo Technical.

The agency goes on to say that choosing somebody they know and have interacted with before is an easier decision than selecting someone they’ve never met or only met through a brief interview.

It points to the fact that since 70% of jobs are never published publicly, the statistics show that networking is the best way to create a successful career.

Upcoming hiring event

Job-seekers are asked to register for the upcoming hiring event taking place April 24, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Mall of Victor Valley located at 14400 Bear Valley Road in Victorville.
