CALIFORNIA – The Restaurants Care Resilience Fund is awarding $5,000 grants to independent restaurants and commercial caterers in select Southern California counties.

According to Restaurants Care, over 1,600 independent restaurants have received grants to build resilience within their businesses.

Grant recipients have used funds to pay for equipment upgrades, employee training, and challenges like COVID-19 and the Hollywood strikes.

Commercial customers of SoCalGas in San Bernardino, Orange, Riverside, and Ventura Counties have until April 26 to apply for a grant.

Second grant offers $10,000 to restaurants impacted by wildfires

The Restaurants Care Resilience Fund is also offering $10,000 grants to over 200 independent restaurants and food trucks in Los Angeles County affected by the wildfires.

“Restaurants are the heart of LA’s neighborhoods – small businesses that employ thousands and enrich communities. By supporting LA restaurants we’re supporting the comeback of the city itself,” said Restaurants Care in a statement on the website.

Applicants must be located in Los Angeles County and be able to demonstrate a revenue decline due to the LA fires.

Grants have supported burger joints, taquerias, bakeries and more

Since 2021, the Restaurants Care Resilience Fund has awarded $7.3 million in grants to support burger joints, taquerias, bakeries, and more.
