YERMO – The World Record Academy announced, August 25, that Eddie World’s 70 foot ice cream sundae has set the world record for World’s Largest Ice Cream Sculpture. According to their site, recognition with the World Record Academy provides a “lifetime listing of the record in the world’s largest world record database.”

The oversized ice cream sundae, built on top of a water tank, serves as a promotional tourist attraction for Eddie World.

Just east of Barstow at the Calico Road exit, the 70 foot ice cream sundae stands at the entrance. Eddie World Owner Alex Ringle describes the gas station and tourist stop, on Interstate 15 between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, as a travel center.

“On five acres sit 150 parking spots, 18 Tesla supercharging stations, six ChargePoint DC fast chargers, 26 fuel pumps, the giant sundae, and a 27,000-square-foot structure housing an astonishing array of amenities,” said Ringle. “We are doing so many unique things all under one roof.”

Included in the array of amenities are various stations for food – pizza, sushi, various chocolates, ice cream and coffee. Visitors can also view a wall dedicated to the Los Angeles Lakers made out of flooring from the original basketball court. Another station has a box that creates custom candy artwork.

According to the World Record Academy, it “has the strictest rules for approving world records.” They state that it is the first and the only world record certifying organization that requires polygraph tests, anti-doping tests as well as the presence of legal representatives: lawyer, certified accountant, surveyor (legal metrology), depending on the specifics of the record.

Other benefits to registering with the World Record Academy, according to the site, include working with the fastest world record certification service, first page publication of the new world record on the website and on-site adjudication services.

Listed under their success stories is the world record for fastest business deal held by former President Donald Trump and Ricardo Bellino set for a 3 minute business presentation.
