CALIFORNIA – Total Wireless, a no-contract wireless provider on the Verizon 5G network, announced on October 16 its LifeLine discount program for California residents.

Through California LifeLine, qualifying customers can get a Total Wireless plan with unlimited talk, unlimited text, and 6GB of high-speed data every 30 days — for as little as $0 per month.

Customers also receive a free smartphone upon enrollment.

For those who need more data, unlimited data is available for just $11/month.

Verizon Value Chief Revenue Officer David Kim said access to reliable wireless service shouldn’t be out of reach for anyone.

“That’s why we’re bringing California LifeLine to Total Wireless stores across the state, making it simple for eligible residents to sign up and get connected—with no barriers, no credit checks, and no compromises on quality,” Kim said.

Enrollment process

California residents can apply in-store using scannable QR codes at Total Wireless locations or online.

Those enrolled in CalFresh, Medi-Cal, Veterans Pension and Survivors Benefit, and other government assistance programs automatically qualify for LifeLine benefits.

New and existing customers may apply. LifeLine assistance cannot be transferred, and only one benefit is allowed per household.

200 Total Wireless stores in California

Beyond California, Total Wireless is expanding its LifeLine program nationwide, giving more people access to discounted wireless service.

With about 1,900 stores nationwide, including more than 200 in California, customers can visit to obtain information, ask questions, and enroll.
