
APPLE VALLEY – The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department announced that on October 11, at around 11:55 p.m., Barstow deputies responded to a home after reports of gunfire.
Deputies found the victim, Jesse Edward Murueta Cervantes, in the backyard with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail responded to the location and assumed the investigation.
Detectives determined the reporting party’s ex-boyfriend, Andrew Limon, 31, of Apple Valley, arrived at the home, where shots were fired in the backyard.

During the investigation, Apple Valley deputies found Limon in his car with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital and will be booked for murder once medically cleared.
Investigators believe Limon was shot during the incident.
