SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY – The Sheriff’s Department announced on October 7 the results of a weeklong operation targeting gang activity and illegal firearms across the county.

Locations:

8000 block of Juniper Avenue, Fontana
14000 block of Bluewood Drive, Fontana
2400 block of Cedar Street, San Bernardino
1600 block of N. Pennsylvania Avenue, Colton
13000 block of Begonia Road, Victorville
26000 block of Old Highway 58, Barstow

The operation led to nine felony arrests, the seizure of 15 firearms—including two ghost guns—and about one pound of methamphetamine, the Sheriff’s Department said.

From September 29 to October 5, 2025, investigators with the Sheriff’s Gangs/Narcotics Division, assisted by patrol deputies and partner agencies, served six search warrants and made multiple suspect contacts across the county.

The San Bernardino Movement Against Street Hoodlums (SMASH) Street Enforcement Team also conducted proactive patrols in Fontana and nearby areas, targeting gang activity and firearm offenses.

Authorities say the effort is part of a larger county initiative to curb violent crime and reduce quality-of-life issues. The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors authorized funding to support the Sheriff’s Department in conducting enhanced crime suppression operations countywide.

Operation will continue over the coming months

“Operation Consequences” will continue over the coming months, focusing on the High Desert region and jurisdictions surrounding the City of San Bernardino.

The multi-agency operation involves personnel from the Sheriff’s Gangs/Narcotics and Specialized Enforcement divisions, local patrol stations, the California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino Police, County Probation, and Homeland Security Investigations.

Officials said the operation is intended to disrupt street gangs and identify individuals illegally possessing or trafficking firearms.
