VICTORVILLE – The High Desert Black Worker Center (HDBWC) is celebrating the grand opening of its new community training center, September 27, which the organization calls an important step in addressing poverty and promoting economic opportunity.

HDBWC president and CEO Delores Williams says the center represents more than just a space—it’s a movement.

“Our goal is to create a collaborative hub where workers can come together, connect to apprenticeship programs, share resources, and build power to transform our communities,” she said.

Under guidance from the California Department of Industrial Relations, HDBWC works to expand access to quality jobs, improve workplace standards, and address discrimination.

Williams says the grand opening marks a step forward in setting the stage for long-term economic regional impact across Southern California.
