UPDATE: San Bernardino County Sheriff released a statement on the arrest of Jake and Rebecca Haro in the disappearance of their 7-month-old son Emmanuel Haro.

This investigation began on August 14, 2025, as a reported kidnapping at the Big 5 in Yucaipa. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department immediately dedicated all available resources to locate seven-month-old Emmanuel Haro. During the investigation thus far, numerous interviews have been conducted, search warrants have been served, digital and electronic evidence has been collected and closely analyzed. Based on the evidence, investigators determined a kidnapping in Yucaipa did not occur. It is believed Emmanuel is deceased and the search to recover his remains is ongoing,” according to the advisory.

Arrest warrants were obtained from the Riverside County Superior Court and both suspects were booked in a Riverside County jail without bail. No other arrests have been made, and no suspects remain outstanding.

“The circumstances surrounding this investigation are tragic and we will continue to search for Emmanuel,” said San Bernardino County Sheriff Shannon Dicus.

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY – This morning, detectives from the Sheriff’s Homicide Detail and Specialized Enforcement Division arrested Jake and Rebecca Haro at their Cabazon residence for murder, according to a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department X post.

In a previous update, the department said Emmanuel’s father, Jake Haro, had retained an attorney but welcomed cooperation with detectives in the search for his son.

Last week, investigators said that they could not rule out foul play in the disappearance of Emmanuel Haro due to inconsistencies in Rebecca Haro’s initial statement. She chose not to continue cooperating at that time.

Search warrants were served at the Haro home, and K9 units were deployed to assist. A large amount of surveillance video from areas of interest has been obtained and is under review.

Jake and Rebecca Haro reported being harassed and receiving death threats. On Wednesday night, they called 911 after strangers entered their property, stole items from their porch, and banged on their door.

Investigators said the search for seven-month-old Emmanuel Haro will continue.

Baby Emmanuel’s disappearance

On Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 7:47 p.m., deputies in Yucaipa were dispatched to a retail business after Rebecca Haro reported being physically assaulted by an unknown male while changing her child’s diaper.

She lost consciousness, and when she awoke, her son was gone.

Deputies and K9 units from San Bernardino and Riverside counties launched an extensive search but could not locate Emmanuel.

Based on the circumstances, the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division joined the investigation.
