CalChamber honoring small businesses with $5,000 grant award at new event

CALIFORNIA – The California Chamber of Commerce (CalChamber) announced, March 17, the Small Business Awards that will honor four outstanding businesses with $5,000 grants and recognition at the new California Business Outlook Dinner taking place on June 4, 2025.

CalChamber is providing four $5,000 grants – including two for fire-impacted businesses, to recognize leadership, resilience, and contributions to communities.

A new tradition designed to foster dialogue

The California Business Outlook Dinner is a new event that merges the former Capitol Summit and Sacramento Host Breakfast.

“After 99 years of the Host Breakfast, we are turning the page and are proud to host the first-ever California Business Outlook and Dinner, a new tradition designed to foster meaningful dialogue and collaboration among California’s top leaders and decision-makers,” said CalChamber president and CEO Jennifer Barrera.

CalChamber said this year’s guest speakers include:

  • California lieutenant governor Eleni Kounalakis; and
  • Beacon Economics founding partner Christopher Thornberg, who will be presenting on trade and economic impacts in California.

Nominate a business

In their application, CalChambers says grants will go to California-based small businesses that align with the mission of making California a better place to live, work, and do business.

Businesses can self-nominate or be nominated by a local chamber or community member.

In addition to the $5,000 grant award, small business honorees will get recognition at a premier business event and a chance to showcase their business on a statewide platform.

Applications close April 11, 2025.
