HESPERIA – The City of Hesperia announced, February 5, that they are suspending the road work on Ranchero Road.

“In the best interest of the City, and due to unanticipated delays, increased costs, and other unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, the City will suspend demolition and construction of the Ranchero Road bridge at this time while evaluating alternative strategies,” said the city in a Facebook post.

In October, the city said that Ranchero Road between Seventh Avenue and Cottonwood Avenue will be closed as crews demolish the bridge over the California Aqueduct.

The project was expected to last for at least 10 months while a new bridge with two lanes in each direction was constructed.
