NATIONWIDE – Amazon is accepting applications for grants up to $25,000 for small businesses that are Amazon business account holders. The grant application, due Sept. 30, is part of Amazon Business’ launch for Small Business Month to celebrate small businesses with exclusive savings and grants.

“Amazon Business is invested in the success of small business customers,” said Amazon Business small business director Todd Heimes. “When they grow, we grow, which enables us to increase selection, reduce prices, and add additional features and benefits, all of which are important to small business owners. These entrepreneurs face unique challenges and circumstances, and we’re here to be a partner in their continued success.”

Amazon’s Small Business Month officially kicked off on September 8 with the company’s Small Business Summit.

For grant applicants, the grand prize will be a $25,000 monetary award, 1 year of Amazon business prime membership, a Ring Deluxe security kit and Amazon web services and training benefits valued at $32,000. Four finalists will receive $20,000 and 10 semi-finalists will receive $15,000.

When applying, businesses will be asked:

  1. Why did you start your business?
  2. What is your business’ mission or vision?
  3. How does your business innovate or add value for your customers?
  4. How would receiving the grant help you?
  5. What is a large problem your company faced and how did you persevere?
  6. How does your business give back to the community?

Once the application period closes, Entrepreneur.com will select 15 small businesses grant applicants who will move to the next round where existing Amazon Business customers will vote for their favorite businesses between October 10 – October 20. Amazon Business will announce the recipients on October 25.
