Black Wall Street HD hosts 1st workshop!

VICTORVILLE – Former Better Business Bureau analyst Steven A. Webb kicked off Black Wall Street HD’s entrepreneurial workshop, Saturday, with guidance on professionalism and excellence. The event is the first in a series of workshops that aims to help local entrepreneurs not only start a business and become successful but also stay legally compliant.

“Someone reported us for not having the permits,” said Black Wall Street HD President and Genesis Barbering Club owner Lynn Mitchell about the monthly marketplace held at the Burning Bush church parking lot. “We’re working on getting our own building. We’re trying to empower our businesses to do everything the right way – LLC’s, licenses, so when we open back up, they are ready.”

Webb, who was the keynote speaker for the workshop, coached the attendees on how to provide customer service and maintain a professional environment for them.

“I’m real big about pushing our people to the next level,” said Webb. “The importance of Black Wall Street is a collaboration of businesses, doctors, lawyers with one common goal – help our people.”

Webb owns Box It Plus, a provider for LIVE SCANS, Mailbox Rentals, Shipping, U Hauls, Passport Photos and Key Replication in Woodland Hills.

Mitchell says they plan to continue the workshops on a quarterly basis.

“These are tools to help businesses expand which will recycle dollars back into our community,” said Mitchell.
