ADELANTO – Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Victor Valley Station were dispatched to a medical aid call at a residence on Bonanza Road in Adelanto on December 20 around 9:40 p.m.

When deputies arrived, they found Tyreek Moore, 23, of Adelanto and Shyla Powell, 22, of Lancaster inside the residence, both with gunshot wounds.

Medical aid pronounced both dead on scene.

The Sheriff’s Homicide Detail also responded and took over the investigation. Detectives learned Moore and Powell had a verbal altercation earlier that day.

Investigators found a gun near the male, and ruled the case a murder-suicide.

Both decedents were taken to the Coroner’s Office.
