Victorville summer reading program offers weekly prize drawings, performances and Movie Fridays

VICTORVILLE – The Victorville City Library invites residents to this year’s free “Level Up at Your Library!” Summer Reading Program, beginning June 9.

The city said the Summer Reading Program is designed to inspire a love of reading that encourages participants to read a set number of minutes each day or week based on their age group.

Every week after readers complete their reading log, they will earn rewards including a free book, a fun incentive, and a raffle ticket for weekly prize drawings. 

At the end of the six-week challenge, readers who complete their weekly logs will be entered into the grand prize raffle drawing.

Crafts, Special Performances, Storytime and Movie Fridays

The library will also host a variety of programs and events that complement the reading challenge and bring the “Level Up” theme to life.

Drop-in Crafts: Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Create a new craft each week inspired by the reading theme.

Special Performances: Wednesdays at 11 a.m.

Enjoy an exciting 45-minute show, including magicians, puppets, and even a portable planetarium!

Fairytale Storytime: Thursdays at 11 a.m.                        

Join the library for imaginative storytelling perfect for young readers and families.

Themed Movie Fridays: Fridays starting at 12 p.m.

Watch a movie that matches the weekly theme and craft.
Here’s the movie lineup:

Week 1: Jumanji

Week 2: Sonic the Hedgehog

Week 3: Angry Birds

Week 4: Library Closed

Week 5: Pokémon

Week 6: Wreck-It-Ralph

Special Saturday Programs:

June 21, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.: Get creative with fuse beads and a variety of cool templates.

July 12, 12 p.m. – 2 p.m.: Step into a life-sized game of Candyland and become part of the fun.

Registration begins June 2nd

Residents can register at the Victorville City Library located at 15011 Circle Dr. beginning June 2.

The Summer Reading Program will run June 9 through July 19. Completed reading logs can be dropped off at the Victorville City Library.
