CALIFORNIA – Siri-enabled Apple device users that experienced an unintended activation between September 17, 2014 and December 31, 2024, must file claims by July 2.
A settlement has been reached with California-based Apple in a $95 million class action lawsuit brought on behalf owners of a Siri-enabled iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, MacBook, iMac, HomePod, iPod touch, or Apple TV whose confidential communications were allegedly obtained by Apple and/or shared with third parties as a result of an unintended Siri activation.
Apple denies all of the allegations made in the lawsuit and denies that Apple did anything unlawful.
Claimants can get up to $20 per device
Class Members with valid claims will receive a pro rata share of the Net Settlement Amount, capped at $20 per Siri device, depending on the settlement terms.
If a user received an email or postcard with a Claim and Confirmation Code notifying them about the settlement, they can use these codes to submit a claim.
Users who didn’t receive a notification or codes but believe they are part of the Settlement Class, can visit the Submit a Claim page and follow instructions to file a Claim Form.
Court will hold hearing August 1, 2025
The Court will hold a hearing on August 1, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. to decide whether to approve the Settlement. The court may reschedule the hearing without further notice.
