VICTORVILLE – The Victorville Library is hosting science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics (STEAM) events as well as other events for children and teens to enjoy. Here is a list of upcoming events:
Teen Monthly STEAM
The U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services provided funding for Victorville Library’s monthly STEAM activities.
The library holds STEAM events for teens every 2nd Wednesday of the month from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The project scheduled for February 8 is a LED jellyfish throwie. Previous projects included bath bombs, paper flashlights and holiday LED cards.
Children’s Monthly STEAM
The library holds STEAM activities for children ages eight and up every second Monday of the month starting at 4 p.m. The project scheduled for February 13 is Sink the Boat. Previous projects included symmetrical snowflakes, solar oven s’mores, fizzing ghosts and turkey circuits.

Weekly Story Time
The library holds three weekly story times where a librarian brings a book to life.
Evening Story Time – All Ages
Evening story time is geared towards children 0-8. Staff read a few books, and then have the children dance to music, and create a craft. Limited seating.
Day: Tuesday at 5 p.m.
Multilingual Story Time – All Ages
This story time and activity is in English and a Secondary Language. For example: Spanish, German, and American Sign Language. Limited seating.
Day: Wednesday at 10 a.m.
Kinder Prep – All Ages
Kinder Prep is designed to help kids with their reading and fine motor skills. Activity and story will vary from week to week. All kids whether pre-K or older are welcome to join the fun. Limited seating.
Day: Thursday at 10 a.m.
