PHELAN – The High Desert Keepers have removed over 506.62 tons of trash – the equivalent of two empty Boeing 747 airplanes, from the High Desert. The non-profit is celebrating 4 years of not only keeping the desert trash free but helping to combat illegal dumping.
“The High Desert has many complications in combating illegal dumping. It devalues properties, homes and communities,” said High Desert Keeper Community Outreach Coordinator Miguel Soto Jr. “It is important to maintain pride in our communities and protect the ecosystems of our wildlife in the High Desert.”
High Desert Keepers Founder Scott Brown started the organization in 2017 and they currently contract with the city of Adelanto to perform monthly clean ups. The organization has worked with the cities of Victorville, Hesperia, Phelan, Pinon Hills and other surrounding cities.
We would like to thank our volunteers, donors and the continued support from our community which allows us to continue our work and reach new milestones
