CALIFORNIA – A California man faces federal charges for allegedly threatening an Oklahoma judge, prosecutors announced Wednesday.
According to court documents, Karl Czekai, 29, of Carmichael, is separated from his wife, who moved to Oklahoma with their child to get away from him.
In Oklahoma, his wife filed for a protective order, alleging he held guns to her and repeatedly threatened to shoot her.
Court documents say Czekai began posting about his wife and the Oklahoma judge overseeing the case in February 2026.
The posts include images of his avatar pointing a gun at a judge at a “FAMILY COURT” bench.
Another post included a message threatening the judge’s safety: “Hello, Judge [VICTIM 1] of the Oklahoma City Courthouse… the comfort of your title, the security of your robe and the certainty of your authority are about to be tested.”
Another post warned that time was running out: “Tick tock, Your Honor. You will be the first to set the example. I’m going to diss you publicly to show future judges and lawyers I’m not f—ing around.”
Court documents describe additional posts containing similar threats.
Czekai also posted and sent his wife videos threatening graphic violence, according to the court documents.
Faces up to 5 years in prison
If convicted, Czekai faces up to five years in prison. The defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
