Arrests made in the death of 14-year-old Victorville youth

VICTORVILLE – The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department announced that, after an extensive investigation, Abel Ramirez and a 16-year-old male juvenile were arrested on February 2, for the murder of 14-year-old Jeremy Rosales. 

The male juvenile was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken to the High Desert Juvenile Detention Center.

Ramirez was also arrested for murder and remains in custody at the High Desert Detention Center on $1 million bail.

Rosales succumbed to gunshot wounds on January 16

On Friday, January 16, 2026, around 8:21 p.m., Sheriff’s Dispatch received multiple calls reporting shots fired near Glen Canyon Lane and Burwood Avenue in Victorville.

Deputies found Rosales in the street with gunshot wounds. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The Sheriff’s Homicide Detail responded and took over the investigation.
