Over 100 “Workers over Billionaires” protests taking place on Labor Day in California

Published on

CALIFORNIA – Labor groups and community members across California are planning more than a barbecue this Labor Day.

More than 100 “Workers over Billionaires” protests statewide aim to raise awareness about economic inequality and advocate for policies that support working families.

We have to stop the billionaire takeover. They are converting the government into their private slush fund and just passed the largest wealth giveaway in the history of the US,” according to the High Desert Progressive Democrats, NotStepping Back and other groups hosting a rally in Victorville.

The One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB), passed in 2025, is a major U.S. tax law that provides large tax cuts for high-income households and increased estate exemptions, while also offering limited relief for lower- and middle-income Americans.

Protest organizers say efforts that started on May 1 will continue September 1, focusing on community support and worker advocacy.
