New Brightline West field investigation sites in SoCal for week of July 21

CALIFORNIA – Brightline West announced July 21 new updates to field investigation work along the Interstate 15 right-of-way in Southern California.

No field investigation work is scheduled for the week in Nevada. 

Field work includes soil sampling, utility potholing and land surveying. Work will occur mostly during the day, with some night activity and occasional short-term shoulder closures.

All work will follow environmental regulations and be coordinated with Caltrans.

Updated project areas are listed below. Motorists should use caution in work zones and follow posted signs and speed limits.

California

Mojave River Bridge
Geotechnical boring is scheduled near the Mojave River Bridge on the northbound exterior side. Work will take place Monday, July 21, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Zzyzx Road and I-15
Geotechnical borings will continue on I-15 for future wildlife crossings. Work will occur a half-mile south of Zzyzx Road (Soda Mountain) on the northbound exterior shoulder. The work is scheduled for Monday, July 21, and Tuesday, July 22, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Beach Avenue and I-15
Bridge potholing will be performed on I-15 at the interchanges with Beach Avenue and SR 210 on Monday, July 21, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Duncan Canyon and I-15
Bridge potholing will be performed on I-15 at the interchanges with Duncan Canyon and SR 210 on Tuesday, July 22, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Mojave Drive and Roy Rogers Drive
Bridge potholing will be performed at night on I-15 at the interchanges with Mojave Drive and Roy Rogers Drive. Work is scheduled for Wednesday, July 23, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Nisqually Road and SR 138
Bridge potholing will be performed at night on I-15 at the interchanges with Nisqually Road and SR 138. Work is scheduled for Thursday, July 24, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Note: Dates and times are subject to change. These operations are weather-dependent.

Brightline West links Las Vegas to SoCal

Brightline is America’s only private, eco-friendly intercity rail provider, focused on connecting city pairs that are too short to fly and too long to drive.

The service will link Las Vegas and Southern California with a 218-mile, all-electric high-speed rail line – cutting travel time to about two hours. 

The company also operates passenger rail service in Florida, connecting Miami and Orlando.
