
CALIFORNIA – On Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at approximately 7:30 a.m., Daniel Park was found unresponsive at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Los Angeles, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
Responding employees initiated life-saving measures. Emergency medical services (EMS) were requested while life-saving efforts continued.
Park was transported by EMS to a local hospital and subsequently pronounced deceased by hospital personnel.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the United States Marshals Service were notified. No employees or other incarcerated individuals were injured and at no time was the public in danger.
Park was a 32-year-old male who arrived at MDC Los Angeles on June 13, 2025, under pretrial status after being indicted for Malicious Destruction of Property.
MDC Los Angeles is an administrative security facility.
