CALIFORNIA – Amazon announced October 23, that Prime members can now save $0.10 per gallon at approximately 7,000 BP, Amoco, and ampm gas stations across the U.S.
According to AAA, the average price of gas in California is $4.597 as of October 26. The national average is $3.136.
Amazon says the offer could save Prime members on average nearly $70 per year on gas if purchasing at qualifying locations.
The ecommerce company also plans to add, in 2025, an electric vehicle charging savings offer with BP Pulse, BP’s electric vehicle charging business, with more details to be revealed next year.
Activating $0.10 per gallon savings
To activate the $0.10 per gallon savings, Prime members can visit amazon.com/fuelsavings. Activating the offer will connect a member’s Amazon account and earnify account. Members can then use the free earnify app store locator to find the nearest BP, Amoco, or ampm gas station.
Amazon says members can begin redeeming at the pump by inputting their phone number or linked payment method. Alternately, members can redeem at the pump with the free earnify app by selecting their gas station and pump they are using.
Walmart+ and Costco fuel savings
Walmart+ members save $0.10 per gallon at over 13,000 stations nationwide including Exxon, Mobil, Walmart and Murphy stations.
Costco members also save on gas.
Most reports seem to indicate that Costco gas tends to be about $0.20 less on average than traditional gas stations in the same area, although there are reports that estimate the savings at nearly double this amount.
