APPLE VALLEY – The Mojave Water Agency (MWA), a regional water provider, is offering $91,979 for a water resources specialist position as well as several other positions. The job postings comes amid a California employment market where the median salary is $24 an hour or $49,733 annually.

A 2022 Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC) survey found that 88% of respondents living in the Inland Empire are the most likely to be concerned about the availability of well-paying jobs. The survey found that the region has the highest share in low-wage sectors – trade and transportation, leisure and hospitality, and other services.
